We just hosted our second (annual?) New Year’s Eve party and I have to say I think this may have been our most successful party yet! The vibes were 1950’s Manhattan meets cozy cottage chic with a classic jazz playlist bustling in the background. Of course, by the end of the night it evolved into an all-out showstopping karaoke fest – but that was later.

Décor Details
I borrowed a copious amount of silver serveware from my mom, including antique platters, tiered servers and pillar candle holders! I wanted the vibe to be sophisticated and elegant, yet simple, and these pieces paired together definitely achieved the desired look!
I also took a big leap and rearranged our living room furniture for the event. Although my husband was not happy about having to move the couch, we both agree it created a much nicer flow for guests to easily mingle and maneuver around the center table! We also set up a separate drink table, which eliminated the need to run and grab drinks and allowed guests to easily serve themselves whenever.

Dinner Details
I learned my lesson last year, planning food that was too complicated for such an event, so I wanted to really simplify the menu and offer handheld bites that would appeal to guests that came and went throughout the night.
The cuisine included a charcuterie board truly bursting at the seams, caviar and chips, shrimp cocktail, mini turkey sandwiches, million dollar dip and to top it all off, a silver platter of Wendy’s French fries. (To pair with the caviar, obvi!) We offered a variety of champagne and wine, but I opted not to make a signature cocktail this year to keep things simple and also allow myself to enjoy the party once it started! Sometimes, you gotta just keep things simple!

Outfit Details
Obviously, the outfit vibe was Frank Sinatra Winter, as the girlies are calling it (or mob wives, if you’re still held up in 2024.) I wanted to look like a chic snow bunny in my new fur hat that I am of course going to make my entire personality this winter, paired with a classic black turtleneck, short shorts and sparkly tights, as well as my mom’s vintage fur jacket. (The theme of the evening was actually “borrow everything from Laurie!”) All outfit details are linked here!

After such a success, I think we really must make this party an annual tradition! What is my New Year’s resolution you might ask? I’m planning to host at least once a month for all of 2025. Stay tuned to see what fun event I cook up for January!
