Homemade Chai Syrup

You can easily make your own chai syrup at home using just a few ingredients! Store it in your fridge for up to two weeks and use it in cocktails, coffee drinks and more.

Equipment

  • 1 small saucepan

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 5 chai tea bags
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cinnamon sticks optional

Instructions
 

  • Heat water in a small saucepan until boiling.
  • Add tea bags, cover and steep for 10 minutes.
  • Remove tea bags. Stir in honey, vanilla extract and cinnamon sticks.
  • Return to boil. Reduce heat to medium and simmer uncovered over medium heat for 5-6 minutes, stirring often.
  • Remove from heat and cool for 10 minutes.
  • Remove cinnamon sticks and transfer syrup to a jar or sealed container. Refrigerate for up to two weeks.
