Everything You Need to Make Brown Sugar Baked Brie with Homemade Candied Nuts
- For the Nuts: You’ll need mixed nuts, egg white, sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon and vanilla extract to make my classic candied nuts. Check out the full recipe here. If you don’t want to make your own, you can of course use store-bought candied nuts as well!
- For the Brie: This simple recipe calls for one wheel of brie, a little honey and brown sugar, as well as your candied nuts! I also like to add rosemary as a garnish, but this is optional.
How to Make Brown Sugar Baked Brie with Homemade Candied Nuts
This appetizer recipe could not be simpler to put together!
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F before you start!
- Prepare Brie: Remove brie from packaging. With a large knife, cut perpendicular lines in a crisscross pattern across top of the cheese. This will allow your toppings to seep into the interior of the cheese as it bakes.
- Add Toppings: Add cheese to an oven-safe pan and cover with honey, followed by brown sugar and candied nuts.
- Bake and Serve: Bake for about 10 minutes or until brie is melty and gooey. Make sure to keep an eye on it so it doesn’t melt completely and bottom out! (Although if it does, it will still be delicious, just not as aesthetically pleasing!) Remove from the oven and serve immediately with crostini, crackers or side of choice!
What to Serve with Brown Sugar Baked Brie with Homemade Candied Nuts
You’ll definitely need a vehicle for you and your guests to slather this gooey brie onto! I always like to serve it with a side of crostini! I usually just buy a take-and-bake loaf, cut it into thin slices and bake it along with the brie. You could also serve it with plain crackers, herb-flavored crackers, Italian bread or even crescent rolls – don’t be afraid to get creative!
